A little drawback of all games is the optic. There is not really a demand for formatted IOs and hence this is not one of REXX's strong points.

If one programmed things like this, an ISPF panel would be in charge of the optic where no wish would remain open. Embedding ISPF routines could be your personell challenge for the day.

In former days there was a TSO command which was used to clear the screen. Nowadays this command is no longer available. But almost every company kept the command or have a similar program productive. Other commonly used commands are CLRSCR or CLR3270 or similar. In this case, too, we leave it to you to replace the commands with the appropriate ones.
